■Tengu Fall & Aya Fall
Tengu Falls & Aya Falls(Quotation)
Both
waterfalls are located in the Yanagisawa in the Senzoku, and the Tengu fall
is located in the middle of the river. There is a 500meters (now
700meters) path through the forest roads along the mountain
stream (nw extended to 700 meters),
and after another 600 meters, the waterfall is reached at the foot of
the southeastern ridge of Mt Takauro. It is a waterfall
that slides down a 20-meter long chert fault plane without making a
sound.
The bottom of the waterfall is a wide gravel riverbed, and the basin of
the waterfall is a very narrow pool.
Downstream of the gentle stream of the waterfall, there are two
waterfalls that are 7-8 meters high and have a water pool.
The sound of the waterfall can be heard rumbling depending on the
direction of the wind, creating a deep environment. It is the waterfall
that can be seen from the area around the Kitaakigawa Bridge in Honjuku.
Aya Falls is
located 700 meters upstream from Tengu Falls. Tengu Falls. This
waterfall in a way no less than Tengu Waterfall, where it slides down a
smooth chart cliff with a vertical slope of 17 - 18 meters and bends at
the top.The basin is filled with large and small gravel and falling
rocks. It is said to be called a "bubble waterfall," perhaps because the
falling water looks like a series of seas.In any case, there is no doubt
that the waterfall is as beautiful as a hanging twill fabric.
On the left side of the basin, "Mitugo Fudo Myoo" is engraved,
(Right and left banks) and on the back side, there is a 70
centimeter-high stone monument on which it is written that Yamazaki
Yuuzaburo, an ascetic of Mitake, built it in November, 1966.
While admiring the beauty of the monument, a moment of spirituality will
make you respectful attention. The area around the left bank of
basin is a gently sloping plantation area, and the valley below is an
ordinary mountain river with no danger, so it seems to be a good place
for school children to visit. The only drawbacks are the steepness and
the long distance. It is said that after the fall of Hibara-jo Castle,
the wife of the castle owner built a hermitage there, lived there,
enshrined a statue of ShoKannon, and lived the rest of her life there,
but it seems to be a fact.
